A classic New York bakery to check is Orwashers. Can you imagine that it operates for over 105 years? You can get pastry baked according to traditional recipes. As for good choices, take a closer look at croissants and black-and-white cookies.

If you ask locals, they will probably recommend this bakery as The One With the Burger Cake in the Window. This is a must-visit for everyone who likes or wants to try Italian dishes. Opened by Ry Stephen, Supermoon Bakehouse, is not in vain considered one of the top bakeries in New York. Don’t be surprised by the length of the queue. It can take you an hour to buy what you want, but the pastry is definitely worth it. What are our picks? We recommend trying a filled croissant and a Nutella cruffin, which is a combination of a muffin and croissant.

This bakery is famous for crullers (small pastries in cinnamon-sugar, maple, or original glaze) and homemade bread. This place also suits a lunch or breakfast, so you can come for a morning cup of coffee with a sandwich.

#6. Sugar Sweet Sunshine

No cupcake lover should enter this place, otherwise, you will start living here. The true leader and master in cupcakes. You can also try layer cakes, pies, pudding, and cookies, they are very good. 

#7. Burrow

A nice way to combine a park stroll with sweats is to pop in Burrow. This place doesn’t have many seats, and they are not available now. But you can take your sweet things out and enjoy them together with your sweetheart in Brooklyn Bridge Park. We recommend green tea opera cake and banana tart. Or take Burrow Cookie Box and try several things at once. 

#8. New Flushing Bakery

The best Portuguese tart lives in the New Flushing Bakery. If you are a fan of buttery dough with delicious custard, this is the place to go. You can try coconut and lemon tarts, they are very nice.

If you need a nice small sweet gift for your bae or want to invite her for a coffee in a lovely place, go to Breads Bakery and take a chocolate babka, truly the best dessert in New York for chocolate lovers. #10. Four and Twenty Blackbirds

This bakery was opened and is owned by two sisters from South Dakota. They sell pastry cooked in line with traditional recipes, which are incredibly tasty. We recommend trying things with rhubarb custard, salty honey, and lemon. You can even surprise your bae with a whole cake but make sure you order it in advance, at least 48 hours before the date. The demand is high!

#11. Mille-Feuille

The bakery was opened by Frenchman Olivier Dessyn. Being a software architect, he understood that he wanted to fulfill his dream and become a chef. After studying in the best schools in France, he came to New York with his wife and opened a nice bakery. They offer many French desserts, such as macarons, cheese brioche, and chocolate sables. The true must-eats are the Napoleon cake (Mille-Feuille in french) and croissants.
